Dear Merdinian Community,
As Charlotte and Elise Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School prepares to celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2027, we are proud to introduce a refreshed logo and visual identity that honors our history and mission while reflecting the thriving school Merdinian is today.
Our former logo served as a meaningful symbol of the school, bringing together our Christian faith, Armenian heritage, and educational mission. It will always remain an important part of Merdinian’s history.
As we approach this milestone anniversary, we felt it was the right time to thoughtfully refresh our identity. While rich in symbolism, the former seal was difficult to distinguish across today's digital and physical applications.
The refreshed logo preserves the most meaningful elements of our identity in a cleaner, more recognizable design. The cross reflects our Christian faith, the open book represents education and lifelong learning, and Mount Ararat honors our Armenian heritage and resilience. The Armenian lettering reinforces our commitment to preserving our language and culture, while the modern wordmark gives Merdinian a confident presence for the future.
We are also proud to introduce a new identity for our athletic program: the Merdinian Monarchs.
The Monarchs logo brings these values into athletics. The cross-topped crown reflects faith, leadership, excellence, and honor, while subtly evoking Mount Ararat. It gives our student-athletes a unified identity rooted in teamwork, character, sportsmanship, and school pride.
These refreshed identities are a modern expression of the same mission, values, and traditions that have defined Merdinian for nearly 45 years.
“It was a privilege to lead this effort and help create an identity that reflects the excellence of Merdinian today and the promise of its future. I am proud of what it represents for our students and our entire school community.” - Nerses Aposhian, Former Board Chairman (2023–2026)
As we honor the visionaries, educators, families, supporters, and generations of students who built our school community, we look forward with great confidence to Merdinian’s future.
Our 45th anniversary will also mark an important year of fundraising for the school. We invite our entire community to help us celebrate this milestone by supporting the Merdinian 45th Anniversary Fund and investing in the next generation of our students. Please click here to contribute.
With gratitude,
Merdinian Board of Directors
