Dear Merdinian Families and Friends,
The Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School board of directors is proud to announce that on February 28, at our 44th Annual Gala, we will honor and recognize one of our most devoted and impactful faculty members, Mrs. Sossie Mahseredjian, for her extraordinary 25 years of service to the Merdinian community.
For 25 years, Mrs. Sossie, affectionately known as Oryort Sossie, has been a cornerstone of our Preschool Department, laying the foundation of learning for generations of students. She welcomes children into their very first school experience with warmth, patience, and joy, helping them feel safe, loved, and confident as learners. For countless families, she has been their child’s first teacher and their first introduction to the values, care, and educational excellence that define Merdinian. Her classroom is a place where curiosity is encouraged, kindness is modeled, faith is nurtured, and a lifelong love of learning takes root. The impact of those early years continues to be felt as her students grow throughout their academic journey and beyond.
Oryort Sossie began her Merdinian career in 2001, after seven years of teaching in Lebanon at Azkayin Noubarian Varjaran and Karassoun Manoug Azkayin Varjaran. She is also the proud mother of two Merdinian alumni, Garo (Class of 2008) and Mayda (Class of 2010).

I have heard nothing but incredible things about her as a preschool teacher, and honestly, I wish she had been my preschool teacher. Since my time on the Board, she has been a true leader in our Preschool Department, always positive, open to growth, and putting students first.
