Merdinian Celebrates Armenian Cultural Festival

On Thursday, October 23, Merdinian School brought Armenian heritage to life on campus with a full-day cultural festival attended by students and families. Throughout the day, students performed in the hall, showcasing patriotic Armenian songs and skits honoring notable Armenian figures, including Mesrob Mashdots and Charles Aznavour.

Families explored a variety of cultural activities across campus. Students enjoyed wooden cross painting, face painting, decorating pencil pouches, bracelet making, and pottery art stations. A special book fair featured titles and accessories created by Armenian authors and designers, offering families the chance to support Armenian literature and makers.

Guests also indulged in beloved, homemade Armenian dishes such as kebab, herisse, mante, and kufteh. Cultural enrichment continued with a spirited performance by the Lernazang Dance Group, who demonstrated traditional dances and invited students to learn steps to classics like the Tamzara and Yarkhushta. Musician Karo Aramyan also joined the celebration, treating K–5 students to a special performance.

The day was filled with pride, joy, and community spirit, reflecting Merdinian’s dedication to honoring Armenian culture and tradition. Thank you to our teachers, administrative staff, PTO, and the many volunteers whose hard work made this memorable event possible.
